Sparta, Ill. – (Ammoland.Com) – Zanders’ Sporting Goods, a wholesale shooting sports distributor for more than 50 years, is proud to be an integral part of the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) Nationals held July 13-18 in Sparta, Ill. This year, Zanders sponsored two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Vincent Hancock as well as donated 120 cases of ammo for the “Last Competitor Standing” event along with NSI.
Hancock won Gold Medals in Men’s Skeet at both the 2008 and 2012 Olympic games and is the first Olympic skeet shooter to win Gold Medals in the same event in consecutive Olympic games.
During the event, Hancock signed autographs, spoke with parents and coaches in the morning and in the afternoon, he shot a round of skeet with athletes. He also asked the athletes to pick a station they needed help on and worked with each person to improve their shot. Coaches weren’t left out either – Hancock also took coaches to each station to show the proper stance and gun alignment so they could help their teams.
“We thoroughly enjoyed working with Vincent – he is truly interested in helping young competitors up their game and continue to love the sport,” said Stefanie Zanders. “We look forward to working with the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation in the future on more events geared toward our youth.”
