Fort Worth, TX -(Ammoland.com)- XS Sight Systems, the leading manufacturer of hunting and tactical sights, is pleased to announce that two staff members have been promoted to new positions in order to expand its business development and sales team.
Chris T. Abernathy has been promoted to Business Development Manager, and Tanya Gorin to Commercial Sales Manager. Abernathy, born and raised in Texas, proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 2008 to 2012.
His assignments included: Artillery Officer with the billets of Forward Observer for the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines, Headquarters Battery Executive Officer for 3rd Battalion, 10th Marines, and Officer in Charge of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force Combined Arms Staff Trainer. Currently, he continues to serve in the Individual Ready Reserve as Captain. After leaving active duty, Abernathy built 1911s at PARA USA while earning his master’s degree from Texas Christian University.
He later joined the hardworking XS Sights team in 2013, where he has helped grow the OEM sales department.
“As a Marine Captain, Chris is dedicated to innovation and growth,” says CEO Jon Pastusek. “We are very excited to have him leading XS Sights toward growth and impacting the OEM market with customization. As a leading manufacturer, XS Sights is capable of so much and we look forward to what Chris and his team will bring to the forefront in 2015 and beyond.”
In Abernathy’s new role as Business Development Manager, he will handle the development of OEM sales and relationships, new products and new business partnerships.
Gorin, a Mesa, Ariz., native, grew up learning shooting sports and shot competitively in high power, smallbore and air rifle. While pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mathematics at Texas Christian University, she honed her shooting skills as a member of the NCAA women’s rifle team and realized her true calling was in the firearm industry.
Following a brief internship at XS Sights after graduation, she spent several years in dealer sales at CDNN Sports before returning to the XS Sights team in 2012 as Wholesale Relations and Database Coordinator.
“Tanya exemplifies a strong work ethic and attention to detail,” Pastusek says. “She has a wonderful ability to foster good relationships with our commercial distribution channels. We are confident having Tanya at the helm as she leads XS Sights into new arenas and helps broaden our product reach through wholesalers, distributors and retailers.”
Her new position as Commercial Sales Manager will entail managing and cultivating wholesale and dealer relationships.
