An attempted robbery at an Atlanta Family Dollar last week ended with the injured suspect behind bars after he was shot by an armed employee.
Authorities say the suspect entered the store just before 10 p.m. last Monday, pulled a gun and demanded money from the cash register. The details of what happened next aren’t entirely clear, but police say rather than walking out with the cash in hand, the suspect instead tried to walk out with the entire cash register.
However, as the suspect was attempting to make his getaway, an armed employee pulled his own gun and shot the suspect twice – once in the hand and once in the thigh.
The gunshots disabled the suspect long enough for police to arrive on the scene and arrest the suspect without further incident.
