Wisconsin -(AmmoLand.com)- Greetings in Freedom,

Most recent news is that a bill that will allow CC license holders to carry on school grounds (currently a felony) will be introduced likely in the next 10-14 days.

This is an important bill because right now, law-abiding mothers, fathers, and other guardians who pick up, or drop off their kids at school while lawfully carrying, are inadvertently committing a felony if they so much as drive onto the school parking lot/driveway. (even if they never get out of the car)

The Federal GFSZ law has an exception that allows CCL holders to carry on school grounds. Because Wisconsin’s GFSZ law was passed before we had concealed carry, that provision was not adopted. This bill would bring Wisconsin law into congruence with the Federal GFSZ law.

The bill’s authors need to obtain grass-roots support for this bill from citizens but also school administrators, school board members, and even public school teachers.

This is where you can help:

1) If you know a SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER or a SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR (public or private) or a Public School Teacher who supports school GROUNDS carry (not school buildings, just school grounds) please contact me via email nik@wisconsincarry.org

2) Please contact your school board and ask them if they would support a school grounds carry bill that allowed CCL holders to carry on school grounds (and left school buildings up to their local school board discretion)

The risk of a felony CCL holders face if they inadvertently carry on school grounds is huge. Please take a few minutes in the interest of freedom to reach out to your local school board members.

Carry On,

About Wisconsin Carry, Inc.:

Wisconsin Carry, Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the preservation and reclamation of the rights of law-abiding Wisconsin residents to carry in the manner of their choosing. We believe that “open carry” and “concealed carry” are choices to be made by law-abiding citizens based on their situation and preference. Wisconsin Carry, like many gun-rights organizations in Wisconsin, is investing a great deal of resources to get Wisconsin law changed to allow concealed carry this next legislative session by proposing Constitutional Carry. Wisconsin Carry, Inc. will continue to use legal recourse to deter unlawful treatment of law-abiding Wisconsin residents who currently exercise their right to open carry, and soon will exercise their right to concealed carry in Wisconsin.
