USA -(Ammoland.com)- For the seventh consecutive year, Winchester Ammunition has signaled its support for sporting clays and America’s hunting and shooting sports heritage by serving as Official Ammunition Sponsor of the Hunting Heritage Trust’s Jack Robertson Invitational Sporting Clays Shoot.
The Jack Robertson Invitational will mark its 18th consecutive year of fund-raising on behalf of the hunting and shooting sports on Thursday, May 25.
The shoot was originally organized by the National Shooting Sports Foundation as a retirement party for long-time employee and well-known clay target shooter, Jack Robertson.
The first shoot was so popular that NSSF was encouraged to repeat the event the following year and the shoot has grown into one of the most anticipated events on the New England sporting clays calendar.
The shoot is now organized by the Hunting Heritage Trust and has raised nearly $400,000 in support of America’s hunting and shooting sports traditions.
“Winchester congratulates the Hunting Heritage Trust and the Jack Robertson Invitational on its many years of sporting clays camaraderie and fundraising in support of our hunting and shooting sports heritage,” commented Matt Campbell, Winchester Ammunition vice president of sales and marketing. “We are pleased to play a role in the success of this popular and worthwhile event.”
Over its 18-year history, the Jack Robertson Invitational has benefitted groups ranging from USA Shooting to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital and from the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance to the United States Military Academy at West Point-Pistol Team.
A special feature of the JR Shoot is that the First, Second and Third-Place teams earn the privilege of naming a shooting sports organization to receive grants of $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000, respectively, from the Hunting Heritage Trust. Other organizations also benefit from the event.
“The Jack Robertson Invitational was originally launched as a one-year event,” commented Bob Delfay, President of the Hunting Heritage Trust. “We are now very proud that the support from our enthusiastic shooters and loyal sponsors has led to 18 years of enjoyable and effective shooting sports fundraising.”
The “JR Shoot” is traditionally held on the Thursday before Memorial Day and this year’s gathering is slated for May 25 at the Ten Mile River Preserve in Dover Plains, New York. Registration for the event is limited to 150 shooters.
Registrations for 6-person teams at $1,650.00 and individual shooters at $300.00 were still available as of March 28, 2017. To register or to discuss donations to the shoot, please contact Bob Delfay at info@huntingheritagetrust.org
