Watertown, S.D.; (Ammoland.Com) — Gun It with Benny Spies is pleased to announce a new partnership with Winchester Repeating Arms beginning in 2016. Gun It with Benny Spies currently airs on Sportsman Channel Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
“I’ve hunted pheasants, deer, bear and ducks with my trusty Winchester for many, many years – in fact, my Winchester Ranger 20 ga., was the one I used on my first hunts as a kid, ” said Spies. “This partnership means so much to me as a small-town kid growing up in South Dakota to one day partnering with the most well-known gun manufacturer in the world is very humbling. I’m super excited to showcase their products to my fans on Gun It and throughout my travels!”
“The success of Winchester Repeating Arms has come from every day Americans who just want to get out and hunt. And nobody exemplifies that way of life better than Benny,” said Rafe Nielsen, communications manager for Winchester Repeating Arms. “His energy and enthusiasm is contagious, and the sincerity of his show and his passion for the outdoors is on full display. Benny represents the every day sportsman and hunter, and that’s what Winchester Repeating Arms is all about.”
After 11 years of persistence and perseverance, Spies’ dream of creating and hosting a TV show became a reality. With TV experience working behind the scenes for “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” in the Page Program for NBC and in production for PBS and VH1 before moving back home to South Dakota, Spies finally heard a “yes” from then VERSUS Network. “Gun It” premiered in 2010 and Spies hasn’t looked back since. Spies is a contributing writer for Outdoor Life magazine and was a field host on Sportsman Channel’s “Amazing America with Sarah Palin” in 2014.
“My passion is to share my love for the outdoors and give the world an honest representation of how the majority of Americans enjoy it. Few people have the opportunity to travel the world and hunt and fish wherever they want. I’m no different. To me, it’s not about the high-dollar game hunt or having the best gear money can buy. It’s about going out and doing things the way I was taught – gettin’ dirty, pullin’ the trigger and sometimes casting a thousand times to catch one fish or shooting a box or two of shells to get one duck,” concluded Spies.
