East Alton, IL – -(Ammoland.com)- Winchester Ammunition recently received the 2013 Best of the Best award from Field & Stream for its Winchester AA TrAAcker load, the first target load to feature a weighted wad that actually tracks with the shot string to help improve shooting skills.

Winchester AA TrAAcker allows the shooter or an instructor to quickly determine where the shooter is missing – making it easy to adjust and hit flying targets shot after shot.

The secret of AA TrAAcker is in the revolutionary wad. Loaded with 1 1/8 oz. of shot like a standard AA shotshell, the innovative wad design includes longer, notched petals, and captures 1/8-ounce of shot, which stabilizes wad spin and ensures that the wad remains in the center of the shot string for optimum tracking. The AA TrAAcker load is available in two highly visible colors: orange, for overcast conditions or dark backdrop; and black for clear skies or light backdrops.

“It is with great honor that we receive this prestigious award from Field & Stream,” said Brett Flaugher, vice president marketing, sales and strategy for Winchester Ammunition.

“All of our engineers work very hard to develop ammunition that will set new standards. We want to make sure we’re producing dependable products year after year that the millions of sportsmen and sportswomen will appreciate and use on the range and in the field.”

Each year the editors at Field & Stream review new products and innovations and choose the top performing items for inclusion in the annual Best of the Best round-up. Field & Stream test-team members rigorously test each item during a process dubbed the “Field & Stream Torture Tests.” Winning products are ultimately selected based on significance of the innovation, the quality of the design, and the value they bring to outdoorsmen. Selection criteria varies, depending upon the category, but all of the winning products share one characteristic: excellence in their field.

“Our staff spent the better part of the past year finding and testing the gear that will make readers’ time in the woods more productive and more fun,” says Slaton White, Deputy Editor of Field & Stream. “The winning products not only withstood our tough testing, but they stood head and shoulders above the rest displaying absolute excellence in their field. The Best of the Best is the highest honor Field & Steam bestows on gear and the winning products are the best of the year; worth your time, worth your money.”
