Winchester expands its Deer Season XP ammunition lineup, offering modern sporting rifle hunters .223 and 6.5 Creedmoor options.
The company points to the uptick of hunters owning and shooting MSR platforms chambered in the popular rounds as the reason behind the expansion. The new Deer Season XP supplies shooters with a 64-grain .223 bullet and 125-grain 6.5 Creedmoor designed specifically for deer hunting. The loads feature large-impact-diameter design that expands immediately upon contact to deliver the utmost energy.
The new rounds join Winchester’s extensive lineup of chamberings to include .243 Win, 7mm Rem Mag., 30-30 Win, .30-06 Springfield, 300 Blackout and .300 Win Mag.
“By including the .223 Remington and 6.5 Creedmoor in our Deer Season XP lineup, we now join the most popular type of hunting with two additional calibers,” Matt Campbell, Winchester Ammunition vice president of marketing and sales, said in a press release.
Loads will ship in 20-round boxes with a retail price hovering around the $25 mark.
