Massachusetts –(AmmoLand.com)– In the aftermath of the Massachusetts special election upset, some startling revelations have come out regarding Atlantic Research Marketing Systems, commonly known in the AR-15 world as A.R.M.S., a maker of high quality iron sights, rail systems, and scope rings for the AR platform.

In 2008, Richard and Sharon Swan, CEO and VP respectively, of A.R.M.S. contributed $1,000.00 to anti-gun Democrat Martha Coakley in her successful campaign for Massachusetts’ Attorney General.

Martha Coakley, who recently lost the Massachusetts special election for the United States Senate, was endorsed in her race for Attorney General by the notoriously anti-gun Brady Campaign and arch-gun haters the Million Mom March.

Why would the CEO of a company that manufactures parts and accessories for so-called “assault rifles” donate money to a politician who is supported by the very anti-gun groups that want to put them out of business?

I talked to Mr. Swan. He points out that he did not give money to Coakley during her Senate race, but in a prior AG’s race. However, he had no real reason to give money to anti-gun Coakley except to “have her ear.”

I’m a big fan of A.R.M.S. products; in fact most of the staff at the National Association for Gun Rights has A.R.M.S. back up iron sights on their AR’s. I’m disappointed — but not surprised — to see this sort of misguided political thinking coming from members of the gun industry.

Supporters of true firearms freedom, like you and me, are often on the losing end of these sort of industry compromises.

It’s precisely this sort of misguided thinking that keeps anti-gunners in office despite the unpopularity of their policies.

If you’re as upset about this as I am, take a moment to contact A.R.M.S. CEO Richard Swan. Ask him who’s side is he really on, the side of firearms freedom or the side of the gun banners?

Tell A.R.M.S. that they should only support truly pro-gun candidates.
