Indiana –-(Ammoland.com)- I’m going to just get right to the point.

This letter isn’t about a gun issue, but it is about watching a whole society of good citizens doing exactly nothing.

This letter reaches to points well beyond my knowledge, I’m going to explain what is happening here in Evansville, Indiana so those who may get this will have some idea the reason for this letter.

Last week there was a local church that had requested permission from the city to put on display 30 crosses along the riverfront for about a week in the month of August. It didn’t take long for some cry babies to complain about it and get the ACLU involved. Now it seems like some officials are as nervous as a cat about a lawsuit. We all know where these things usually wind up.

Sunday night Margie and I were invited to attend a local church where the pastor was giving a tremendous sermon on the current status of this country. It was very similar to what I said at our Patriot meeting the night before. While he was speaking about our side being silent and seldom getting involved in the struggle to defend what is right and good, the thought came to me about this cross issue on the riverfront.

In my mind I pictured a crowd of church goers and clergy staging a vigil with crosses in hand on a Sunday afternoon on the riverfront in a show of not just defiance, but of solidarity. I was visualizing 6 to 9 thousand people, a sea of people that would leave an indelible image in the minds of elected officials, lawyers, and all the constitutional scholars who can’t let an opportunity go by without telling us all about the separation of church and state.

This evening’s news had a story about 7 or 8 young high school aged boys and girls on the corner of First Avenue and Columbia holding signs supporting those crosses. Those young brave souls standing in the rain making a statement made me wonder, “ where is everyone?”

Sometimes we’re given an opportunity to state our case, speak our mind, step up and step out, I think this is one of those times. I’d like for folks that believe in the traditions of this country take this moment for once in their lives show what they’re made of.

Contact the leaders of the churches you attend and see if we can organize a stand of Americans to come together in numbers that would make a rally in D.C. look like small potatoes.

Be my guest to pass this along.
