Watch The Junior Olympic Nationals Live On The Internet
Camp Perry, Ohio – -(AmmoLand.com)- Competition in the National Junior Olympic Three-Position Air Rifle Precision Class Championship will conclude today at the Camp Perry (Ohio) Marksmanship Training Center. Three relays of 3×20 three-position competition will take place with start times of 8:00 AM EDT, 11:00 AM EDT and 2:00 PM EDT. The final round for the top eight individual competitors starts at 5:15 PM EDT. What is especially exciting about this national junior championship is that no matter where you are, you can watch the shots and scores of any individual shooter you choose to follow live on the Internet while they are shooting.
To make it to the National Junior Olympic Championship, school-age juniors had to qualify in State Junior Olympic competitions where the top teams and individuals advance to the Junior Olympic Nationals. The national event is taking place on the CMP’s new electronic-target equipped air gun range at Camp Perry. 231 shooters and 43 teams are now at Camp Perry for the two days of competition that end today.

When a relay of shooters is on the firing line, the names of everyone who is competing at that time are displayed in red at the top of the page. Click on one of the names and a live display of that person’s target will pop up on your computer screen. The last shot fired displays in red. Previous shots display in green.
Going into the second day of competition, Denise Martin from Chewelah, Washington is leading the individual competition with a 595. However, Cody Enders from Dauphin, Pennsylvania and Daniel Hermsmeier from Flourissant, Missouri are only two points behind with 593s. 14 other shooters are within five points of the leaders and still have a chance to make the eight-person cut for the final that determines individual medalists.

At least Five teams, Sutter Union High School from California and St. Louis University High School are leading the race for the Scholastic Team Championship and the Tatanka Trophy, but teams from New Mexico, Alaska, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Nevada still have opportunities to win. Lincoln Rifle Club from California and DePere Sportsman’s Club from Wisconsin are leading the Club Team competition, but teams from Georgia, Pennsylvania, Alaska and Virginia still have a chance at the half-way point to win that competition.
