Bloomfield, NY – -(Ammoland.com)- Hunters with disabilities receiving special accommodations for hunting in Washington State can now apply to use the Benjamin Pioneer Airbow for big game hunting. Washington State confirmed some hunters have already begun applying for Airbow use permits and are receiving the accommodation.

“We are very pleased to hear that the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife is taking a proactive approach with the Pioneer Airbow by reviewing individual cases to accommodate hunters and help them get back in the field,” says Marketing and Communications Manager Jason Reid. “Through their Special Use Permit Program the Airbow will help anyone eligible to take big game in the state of Washington quickly and ethically.”

The WDFW Special Use Permit works on individual cases in order to make sure hunters have the chance pursue their passions. The application process is thoroughly vetted and individuals are accommodated depending on their particular needs.

The Pioneer Airbow is a new category of big game weapon firing full length arrows driven by air. Based on Benjamin’s proven American-made PCP platform, the Pioneer Airbow can be cocked with two fingers (and decocked just as easily), fires 8 shots in the same amount of time it takes to fire three from a crossbow at a blazing 450 FPS. The Pioneer Airbow enhances everything people enjoy about hunting while making the sport safer and more accessible.

The WDFW website states that “Special Use Permits (SUP) are available to any person who has applied for, receives, and maintains in good standing “Disability Status” with Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife; and who has a permanent non-operable physical or cognitive disability; and the disability is certified by a licensed physician through the SUP application process.”

Washington State joins a growing list of states allowing the use of the Airbow during parts of their hunting seasons. Arizona, Missouri, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina, and Maryland are additional states where big game animals can be legally taken with the Airbow. Feral hogs can be hunted in Georgia, Florida and Texas with the Airbow.

Individuals wanting to apply for the WDFW Special Use Permit program can do so by going to www.wdfw.wa.gov/accessibility/special_use. Information on the Benjamin Pioneer Airbow can be found by visiting www.benjaminairbows.com
