At the behest of law enforcement users, Walther Arms has released a new version of the PPQ M2 offering a longer slide designed for duty use.
The 5-inch model does not feature any ports in the slide due to LEO and military consumers preference for a solid slide to minimize foreign object occlusion. All other aspects of the PPQ remain unchanged including the same grip and trigger associated with the entire PPQ family.
“Even though this is a relatively minor change, Walther is excited to take feedback from our customers and incorporate it into our products. The PPQ line continues to grow as the best striker fired polymer pistol with the best grip and trigger on the market” said Luke Thorkildsen Walther Arms VP of Marketing and Product Development in a statement.
The pistol, chambered in 9mm, boasts a 15 round capacity; though Walther does offer a 10-round version as well. Standing 5.3-inches tall with a width of 1.3 inches, the PPQ M2 Standard boasts two drop safeties as well as a firing pin block for safer carry.
The slide and barrel are finished in a matte Tenifer coating that resists corrosion. The gun comes equipped with a Picatinny rail for optional flashlight or laser mounting.
The new Standard model is available now from Walther Arms dealers.
