VGCA Welcomes Newly Appointed National Firearms Museum Director
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA – Jim Supica, the newly appointed Director of the NRA’s National Firearms Museum, will address the Virginia Gun Collectors Association during their monthly meeting, held at the Museum on October 23.
Supica plans to speak about his prior business experience as an antique gun dealer and auctioneer before coming to work at the National Firearms Museum.
“The Virginia Gun Collector’s Association is a group the National Firearms Museum is proud to promote,” Supica said. “Our missions are entirely compatible, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to address the crowd.”
The Virginia Gun Collectors Association, or VGCA, is a NRA-endorsed gun club. The association annually hosts two gun shows at which various modern and antique arms are displayed. Each month VGCA invites a person of stature and renown to address the community on firearms and firearms collecting.
Refreshments are put out at six and the speech starts at seven; any member of the public is welcome to attend this open event. The museum and its gift shop will also be running extended hours for the duration of the meeting.
The National Firearms Museum, which moved from Washington, DC to the NRA Headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia in late 1993, features over ten unique galleries depicting firearms used in America from colonial to modern times.
Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day except major holidays, numerous user-friendly kiosks are placed in the museum giving visitors the ability to look up further information about specific firearms on their self-guided tour.
