A 21-year-old man was arrested after he apparently punched an Army veteran in the face because he did not allow the man’s daughter to pet his service dog.
The incident happened inside a Fayetteville, North Carolina, Dunkin’ Donuts Monday. Dominick Vidal’s preschool-aged daughter approached the veteran’s dog without asking. The man then explained to the girl and her parents that the action wasn’t appropriate for a service dog. But the vet’s request didn’t go over so well with Vidal, who punched the man in the face, knocking him to the ground.
Vidal later turned himself in to authorities and admitted that he “overreacted.” He was charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
