A group of angry protesters who turned to vandalism in a Seattle park Friday night met an unexpected obstacle. Scott Sullivan took a literal stand against the protesters, planting himself firmly in front of a sculpture which they planned to deface. But Sullivan’s move didn’t stop the protesters, who simply spray painted him instead.
“I’m just trying to protect this park,” Sullivan apparently told Seattle Times reporter, Evan Bush.
The May Day protests, some of which remained peaceful with others turning into violent riots, stemmed from workers’ rights and a call to end police brutality.
