Colville, WA -(Ammoland.com)- The USA Youth Education in Shooting Sports (USAYESS) National Championships took place June 27 to 29, 2014 at the National Shooting Complex (NSC) in San Antonio, TX.
USAYESS had middle school, junior high school, and high school shooters from as far away as Alaska that competed in American Trap, American Skeet, and Sporting Clays. USAYESS awarded $2,000 in endowment money for each participating team.
USAYESS also gave out endowment funds for High Overall ($15,000), Runner-Up ($10,000), third place ($8,000) fourth place ($6,000), and fifth place ($4,000). There was a “just for fun” bunker competition that also paid $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000.
In all, a total of $93,000.00 was deposited into team endowment accounts at the MidwayUSA Foundation from the National Championships. USAYESS has given over $400,000.00 to youth shooting teams so far in 2014. The endowment program is made possible by the MidwayUSA Foundation and the personal generosity of Larry and Brenda Potterfield.

In the High-Over-All Ladies individual division:
- Gold – Melissa Berringer (TX)
- Silver – Rachel Berringer (TX)
- Bronze – Abigal Denmark (WA)

Mike Borg the Executive Director of USAYESS and the national event organizer and shoot manager stated, “This was a great event and everyone had a great time. Royce, Pete, Barney, Amber, and the rest of the NSC staff did an outstanding job of keeping all events on time and well organized. We look forward to returning to the NSC in June of 2015 for this annual event.”
