Upland Hunt Scheduled With U.S. Olympic Skeet Hopeful McGrath
Tulsa, Oklahoma — -(ShootingWire.com)- Only 30 spots remain on the Upland Hunt with Jon Michael McGrath. The 17-year old McGrath has aspirations of taking the gold at the 2012 Olympics as a member of the U.S. Skeet Shooting Team. But, doing so will come with a hefty price tag including the cost of travel, ammunition, training, and more. In an effort to offset these expenses, Fish and Hunt the World, LLC, an Outdoor Connection franchise, is hosting an Upland Hunt October 16-18, 2009 at Harpole’s Heartland Lodge in Nebo, Illinois.
The event package cost is $1,813 and includes 3-nights lodging at Outdoor Connection approved and Orvis endorsed Harpole’s Heartland Lodge, all meals, 2 full days of limitless birds, a round of sporting clays, all applicable taxes, and the opportunity to hunt with Jon Michael McGrath.
McGrath hails from Tulsa, Oklahoma and currently holds 14 Junior World Skeet titles and 4 U.S. National titles. He was captain of the Sub-Junior All-American Skeet Team in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and was named to the Junior Olympic Shotgun Team in March 2007.
In 2007, McGrath earned a spot on the U.S. National Development Team and a spot to represent the United States at the 2007 International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Clay Target Championships. That same year, he moved to Colorado Springs Colorado to train at the International Shooting Park in preparation for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing China.
Currently, McGrath holds the 2008 United States National Champion International Skeet title which has earned him a spot on the U.S. National Team.
If you would like the opportunity to support this young Olympic hopeful while enjoying some premier lodging and upland hunting at Harpole’s Heartland Lodge, join Jon Michael McGrath on October 16 -18. For more information, contact Greg Ray at Fish and Hunt the World at 918-407-2586.
