Unravel the Culture of Death

Titusville, FL –“It’s time to unravel the culture of death,” gun rights expert John M. Snyder said today.

“Americans must battle for the right to life and the right to keep and bear arms to defend life,” he added. “This entails opposition to restrictive gun control legislation and support for elimination of restrictive gun control laws.”

Snyder said, “The Obama attacks on the right to life and on the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of life are two aspects of what Blessed John Paul termed the culture of death.

“The president’s promotion of abortion and restrictive gun control are government attacks on the right of pre-natal persons to life itself and the right of post-natal persons to defense of life itself,” Snyder added.

“The Obama attacks on religion and gun rights reflect the administration’s intolerance of individual freedom,” he continued. “The administration assault on religious freedom is despicable. Its mandate forcing people to act against their religious conscience in insurance payment for abortion is tyrannical.

“The assault on religion and the assault on gun rights come from freedom haters. They believe the state is superior to individual freedom. They would force individuals to knuckle down to the state and ignore the right to life of the unborn. They would undermine gun rights so that individuals could not obtain and use firearms to defend and preserve post-natal life.”

Snyder said, “Promotion of abortion and promotion of gun control are both aspects of the attack on life. People own guns to protect lives from criminal assault, and for other legitimate reasons. One hundred million Americans own 300 million rifles, shotguns and handguns. Citizens annually buy over 10 million firearms. Recent studies by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Pew Research Center reveal that firearm-related homicide decreases as private firearms ownership increases.

“Anti-gun propaganda and emotionally-charged media attention to high-profile murders create a false impression. The truth is that relaxations of restrictions on gun carrying correlate with reductions of rates of murder and other violent crimes. Scholarly studies by Professor John Lott and others show this. Generally, guns save lives.”

“While gun grabbers like to point out that guns are used in murders about 11,000 times a year in the United States,” Snyder recalled, “they never note that American civilians use firearms about one million times a year to defend themselves or others against crime, or that people with firearms frighten away intruders about half a million times a year.

“Let us work for the pro-life/pro-gun America we cherish.”
