Columbus, OH –-(Ammoland.com)- It is one of the basic manners most of us are taught as young children, and that is to respect the views of others.
Related to that is the Golden Rule or ethic of reciprocity, which simply means to treat others as you would like others to treat you.
Apparently the anti-hunting crowd was absent the day these measures of basic respect for others was taught because they seem to think it is okay to ridicule, taunt and even threaten those who have decided to include legal and ethical hunting as part of their lifestyle.
As you have undoubtedly seen on national news outlets and will read in this issue of Sportsmen’s Monthly, law-abiding hunters are under attack and it is happening at an unprecedented level. Most of the assaults originate from behind a keyboard with Facebook proving to be the bloodiest battlefield.
The most vicious of these attacks are leveled at women who just happen to represent the biggest growth area in hunting participation, a fact that clearly does not sit well with the antis. Many of the insults are so hideous that they make adults want to turn away, and the thought of young people seeing it is unsettling.
As the country’s only organization with the sole mission to protect hunting, fishing and trapping, USSA is taking a leadership role in not only protecting hunters, but promoting the great work done on the backs of the outdoor community for the betterment of wildlife. This effort is being coordinated with a number of key conservation organizations as well as individuals who have been victims of cyber bullying or have a unique perspective of the issue. Be sure to visit our website and social media platforms for continuing coverage of this effort.
