North Kansas City, MO -(Ammoland.com)- TriStar Arms was a proud sponsor of South Carolina’s Department of Natural Resources’ Second Annual Youth Shooting Clay Open held on March 5.
This year’s event was held at Palmetto Shooting Complex, with over 520 youth participants in grades ranging from 6-12. In order to be eligible to compete, shooters must have successfully completed hunter education and have a coach who has been certified in one of several DNR-approved coaching courses.
While the annual shooting event provides young shooters a stage to compete, it also provides prospective college students with scholarships made possible by money donated by its sponsors like TriStar Arms. This year the SCDNR awarded $33,000 dollars in scholarships to participants, as well as one of TriStar’s much-touted Viper G2 shotguns – which was awarded to Tiffany Jeffcoat of Lugoff-Elgin High School.
“Youth shooting is paramount to the future of our industry and TriStar is always looking for opportunities to support younger shooters,” said Ryan Bader. “It’s our hope that the kids who participate in events like this not only continue to compete and shoot as they grow, but also introduce more people to the sport.”
