Tomi Lahren suspended for pro-choice, guns comment (VIDEO)

Political commentator Tomi Lahren has been suspended by conservative media company The Blaze for comments she made on ABC’s talk show The View last week.

According to the Daily Caller, Lahren’s show on The Blaze has been suspended for at least one week. Her contract is set to last until September, but she may leave the company before then.

Lahren got into trouble for comments she made on The View, in which she proclaimed she was pro-choice and called conservatives hypocrites for believing the government should be able to control a woman’s right to choose.

“I’m pro choice and here’s why,” Lahren told The View’s hosts. “I’m a constitutional, you know, someone that loves the Constitution. I am someone that is for limited government, and so I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government but I think that the government should decide what women do with their bodies.”

Lahren continued: “I can say, you know what, I am for limited government, so stay out of my guns and you can stay out of my body, as well.”

Founder of The Blaze, Glenn Beck, was none too happy about Lahren’s comments and actually went so far as to play a clip in which Lahren seemed to contradict herself and take the pro-life stance.

Blasting Lahren’s constitutional argument for abortion, Beck said: “I would disagree that you’re a hypocrite if you want limited government and yet you want the government to protect life of the unborn. It’s very, very clear. But it takes intellectual honesty, and it takes a willingness to actually think these things through and to do more than just read Twitter or Facebook to get your news and your political opinions.”

Lahren has remained defiant throughout the controversy, tweeting, “I speak my truth. If you don’t like it, tough. I will always be honest and stand in my truth.”
