Tennessee –-(Ammoland.com)- Two weeks ago, we contacted you about two very important legislative issues — supporting the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission and opposing the legalization of white-tailed deer farming — and asked that you reach out to members of the General Assembly to make your voices heard.
We are pleased to report that your efforts have made a significant impact.
Thousands of emails and phone calls made it clear that wildlife matters to the people of Tennessee. Here’s where we are today:
HB2776 by Matheny and Harwell/SB3590 by Faulk, the bill to strengthen our state’s wildlife commission and ensure the continued success of TWRA, is moving forward and has been referred to the House and Senate Government Operations committees. To voice your support for HB2776/SB3590, click here.
The disastrous deer farming bill, HB3164 by Niceley, has been rolled to next Tuesday, March 6th. Thanks to the outpouring of opposition, many members of the House Agriculture Committee have stated publicly that they plan to vote “No.” While the bill is still “alive,” we are cautiously optimistic that this irresponsible piece of legislation will die for lack of support.
