Words of Wisdom:

”To prohibit a citizen from wearing or carrying a war arm . . . is an unwarranted restriction upon the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of constitutional privilege.” Hon. J. A. Williams, Arkansas Circuit Judge in Wilson v. State

Calling the Shots:

  • US Forest Service to close public land to recreational shooting.
    • Colorado 2A reports that the US Forest Service, collaborating with state land management is considering closing over 600 square miles of land to recreational shooting.  We note how recreational shooting on public land played a bit part in our childhood.
  • Huffington Post has semi pro gun article?
    • This may be a bit shocking, but Huffington Post published an article about firearms that wasn’t completely insane. While noting the importance of firearms in the hands of citizens the author struggles with the question based on mistaken statistics.  While he thinks “the number of gun deaths… rise every year” he’s wrong.  The annual number of related deaths has declined one percent, and per capita has been reduced by over twenty percent!

Minnesota Car Dealer fears for employees safety

Returning again to the motherland (We grew up on Minnesota).  It seems that supporters of Gun Control have been attempting to intimidate or shame a Cloquet car dealer after it advertised a “Buy a Car, Get a Gun” promotional event.  As this occurred in Minnesota, the local Anti’s, lead by Joan Peterson, have been cited in articles discussing how they aren’t anti-gun, but that this promotion sends the wrong message.  What message that is and how it is wrong aren’t identified.  We note the message we think the anti’s want and the message that we think this promotion actually sends.

John heard an interview with the car dealer, after we taped this episode, and it sounds like he may start advertising the promotion again.

Upcoming Guest Appearance:

John shares that he will be taping an episode with the Guns of Hollywood Podcast, a member of the Firearms Radio Network.  The episode will review the film Quigley Down Under, and should be fun.  We will link to the episode when it is released.

What will Mike be doing tomorrow night?  Probably drooling over his 7.62×39 AR Upper parts.

Milestone

This is the twentieth episode of the Bear Arms Show!  Between this and Bold Departure, we have produced 100 episodes all together.   As a result, we thought it would be a good time to reminisce a bit and thank each of you for listening to the show.  We appreciate that you take the time and hope that you get as much from this endeavor as we do.  Thanks again

Have a great week!
