Scottsdale, AZ -(AmmoLand.com)- Three hundred chapter leaders and female firearms instructors across the country attended the 3rd Annual The Well Armed Woman National Leadership Conference from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, 2016, in Jacksonville, Fla.
The historic three-day event allowed more than 350 chapter leaders and experts in the industry to meet, train and build support within the firearms community and for the Second Amendment.
The conference kicked off with a range day where attendees trained with several types of firearms. An industry panel provided a much-needed opportunity for manufacturers and industry leaders to communicate directly with women shooters and to hear their wants and needs, as well. Speakers, presenters and trainers included Susan LaPierre, co-chair of the National Rifle Association’s Women’s Leadership Forum; Julie Golob, national and world shooting champion; Steve Fisher, owner/lead instructor for Sentinel Concepts; Alexis Artwhol, Ph.D.,behavioral science consultant to law enforcement; Tori Nonaka, professional competition shooter on Team Glock; Matt Jacques, Victory First senior firearms program advisor; and Barbara Baird, publisher of “Women’s Outdoor News.”
Some of the largest names in the firearm industry sponsored conference, including Ruger Firearms, GLOCK, Walther Arms, NRA-ILA, Crimson Trace Laser Sights, LWRC International, USCCA, Girls with Guns Clothing, Gun Tote’n Mamas, Liberty Safe, Trijicon, Laser Ammo, Everything Covert, Gunsite Academy and The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).
“This conference offered our leadership the opportunity to gather together while learning even more leadership skills, and to be appreciated for their hard work in fulfilling our mission to educate, equip and empower American women shooters,” said Carrie Lightfoot, founder of TWAW.
