American Rifleman article “Galil ACE®, IWI Brings The AK Into the Modern Era” by Field Editor Jeremiah Knupp, delves into the history of the Galil from its early concept and use by the Israel Defense Force to today’s commercialized rifle.
Harrisburg, Pa. (Ammoland.com) – IWI US, Inc., a subsidiary of Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) Ltd., is extremely proud to have the Galil ACE® appear on the January 2018 cover of the NRA’s American Rifleman magazine.
“It is an honor to have the cover shot and feature story in the January issue of American Rifleman,” Casey Flack, CEO of IWI US commented. “The publication has a long and proud history serving our industry, as well as being the go to magazine for all things gun related for the past several generations. To hold the January position with the upcoming SHOT Show is indeed an honor and we thank and support the American Rifleman team for all the outstanding coverage they have given IWI US over the years.”
American Rifleman is the National Rifle Association’s flagship publication and is the largest firearm magazine in the world, covering everything from the newest products to historical firearms, and keeps its audience of over 5 million updated on political events pertaining to the Second Amendment.
The seven plus page article, written by American Rifleman Field Editor Jeremiah Knupp, draws readers into the history of the development of the platform that revolutionized modern weaponry: the AK rifle. It brings us into the Israel Defense Force where some of the world’s most relevant weapons systems are designed, engineered and truly battle tested. Complete with historic pictures, specifications, shooting results and product and performance evaluation, the article closes with former IWI US Vice President Michael Kassnar’s prediction that the Kalashnikov’s evolution through the Galil line is not yet finished, “IWI in Israel never stops looking for ways to make a platform better.”
The Galil ACE is the modern version of the original Galil rifle first developed in the 1960’s by IMI. Based upon the Russian AK-47 and the Finnish Valmet RD 62, the Galil ACE has never stopped evolving to meet the demand of today’s warriors. Some of the most recent upgrades include the left side operation of the charging handle, the LR/SR25 magazine compatibility, full length two-piece Picatinny style top rail and tri-rail forearms with built-in, slide-on and off rail covers with pressure switch access, fully adjustable iron sights with a Tritium front post and a side folding, adjustable, telescoping buttstock with two-position removable comb on all Galil models.
The Galil ACE is available as a rifle in 7.62 NATO and 7.62 x39mm and as a pistol in 7.62 NATO, 7.62x39mm and 5.56 NATO as a standalone pistol or with a Stabilizing brace. MSRP starts at $1,749.00.
