Houston, Tx –-(Ammoland.com)- Helping to preserve our state’s tradition in the shooting sports, the Texas State Rifle Association is proud to announce it will host the 6th Annual TSRA Foundation Banquet on Feb. 21, 2014 at the Holiday Inn Midtown in Austin, Texas. The event will benefit youth shooting sports programs all across the state.
As part of the TSRA annual meeting, the fund-raising banquet will bring together hundreds of sportsmen who are dedicated to preserving our American traditions in shooting sports and youth education. The event will feature live and silent auctions, door prizes, raffles, entertainment, industry exhibitors, and a lot of fun. Banquet begins at 6 p.m.
“The future of our shooting sports, as well as our hunting heritage, begins with today’s youth, so its vitally important that we all pull together in support of the programs that provide shooting opportunities and education for our youth,” says Bruce Kivell, executive director for the Texas State Rifle Association.
“As we face increased urbanization and growing public apathy toward Second Amendment rights, we must work even harder to preserve our traditions, so we encourage all sportsmen to come out, support the youth shooting sports program, and have a great time.”
Founded in 1919, the TSRA is the largest firearms and shooting sports organization in Texas with a membership of more than 40,000. TSRA is also the largest, award-winning state affiliate of the National Rifle Association and is sanctioned by the Civilian Marksmanship Program. As a part of its public education efforts, the association produces a full-color bimonthly publication, TSRA Sportsmen, which updates members on current news, hunter education programs, shooting sports competitions, and important issues effecting their Second Amendment rights. The TSRA also hosts an annual meeting every February that features exciting fund-raising auctions, informative speakers, exhibitors, and other events.
