AUSTIN, Texas –-(Ammoland.com)- When it comes to a gathering of bison enthusiasts, producers and experts on raising Texas bison, the Texas Bison Association Conference recently held in Lubbock delivered one of the most dynamic and successful programs ever offered in Texas.
The annual two-day event attracted bison producers from across the country and the Saturday night auction set a new record for fund-raising in the history of the association.
Held in the first week of May to coincide with the official Texas Bison Week, the 2012 Texas Bison Conference featured field tours to see the official Texas State Bison Herd at Caprock Canyon State Park and to the Addington Buffalo Company in Wolfforth, Texas; as well as informative seminars that included discussion on bison nutrition, bison in wildscape management, drought planning and conserving the Southern Herd.
The event also provided a fun ‘Buffalo Banquet’ that treated attendees with a bison steak dinner and live and silent fund-raising auctions that included art, jewelry, ranch equipment, trips and much more.
