A 19-year-old from Kentucky is facing charges after he pulled a gun on a couple while driving on a Florida road Sunday morning.
According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Kendall McFarland, 19, started tailgating the couple on the Marler Bridge in Destin before he pulled his vehicle alongside the couple’s car. At that point, “hand motions were exchanged,” then McFarland pulled out a gun, racked the slide and aimed it at the couple. The couple took down McFarland’s license plate number and a description of his vehicle, then called the police to report the incident.
Authorities located McFarland’s vehicle soon thereafter. Under the front seat officers found a loaded Taurus 9mm. McFarland was taken into custody and the couple positively identified him.
McFarland, who admitted to authorities he became angry because the couple was driving below the speed limit in the fast lane, was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
