A young man went to a Volusia County, Florida, hospital Wednesday night while suffering from a headache, but after an X-ray, medical personnel discovered an unexpected cause: A bullet fragment lodged in his head.
19-year-old Juanye Jones and two other people were innocent bystanders involved in a drive-by shooting at a local college Monday, but apparently Jones thought he had only been grazed by a bullet and didn’t get medical treatment.
Authorities were called into the hospital once the bullet was discovered and are now offering a $10,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect responsible for the shooting.
Doctors recommended Jones seek further treatment at another hospital, but it’s unknown if he did.
