Matt Cheely of Team SIG Captures a Close Second Place Finish at the 2010 Indiana USPSA State and Sectional Finals
EXETER, NH –-(Ammoland.com)- Team SIG shooter, Matt Cheely, missed first place by 3 match point (.29%) in the Production Division at the 2010 Indiana USPSA State and Sectional Finals, held July 23-25, 2010 at the Atlanta Conservation Club in Atlanta, IN.
Cheely overcame extreme heat and humidity to place within the top ten in each of the ten stages of competition, securing first place finishes in Stages 1, 2, 7 and 8. Cheely competed against a field of 55 competitors in his Division to secure a score of 1210.0731.
“The 2010 Indiana State match was all about high round count. Seven of the ten stages were 32 rounds, which made for an interesting day. Sunday’s weather was the best of the weekend but with humidity in the 95%+ range, attrition would start to take a toll if you weren’t careful,” commented Cheely.“I was in the top five for nine of the ten stages, but missed winning the match by only 3 match points [.29%]. I was happy to see a friend of mine, Jim Tarr, shooting his own SIG USPSA P226 in the lead after the weekend was over. The next match on my schedule is Area 7 Championship, where I’ll look to improve upon some of the lessons learned this past weekend.”
Cheely will be competing in the USPSA Area 7 Championship in Fulton, NY on August 5-8th, 2010.
