Team SIG Captain Max Michel, Jr. Continues Winning Streak in USPSA Area Championships
EXETER, NH –-(Ammoland.com)- Team SIG Captain, Max Michel, took another step closer this past weekend to becoming the first pro shooter in history to win all eight United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Area Championships in a single year.
Michel is now seven for seven in the 2010 competitive season after winning the Open USPSA Area title at the Area 8 Championship, held in Fredericksburg, VA on August 26-29th, 2010. Over 275 competitors turned out to compete in ten challenging stages.
Max Michel Jr.Competing against 75 division competitors, Michel finished in the top ten in all ten stages, including five first place finishes, to help clinch his Open title with a score of 1067.5632, or 100%.
“The Area 8 was another great event. This was probably one of the most fun matches I have shot all year, not to mention the most competition I have faced,” commented Michel. “This was a big win for me and SIG SAUER. I am pleased to still be on track to win all 8 Area Championships in the same year with just one left to go in November.”
Michel’s next competition is the 2010 US IPSC National Championship (World Shoot Qualifier) at the Mid-Carolina Rifle Club near Columbia, SC on October 1 – 2, 2010. This will be a Level III IPSC Match and will serve as a Qualifier match to select the US teams for the 2011 IPSC World Shoot XVI in Greece.
