Grand Island, Neb. –-(Ammoland.com)- Team Hornady pro shooters have been dominating the firing line. Most notably are two first place finishes at the prestigious 2010 NRA Bianchi Cup National Action Pistol Championship, May 26-29, at the Green Valley Rifle and Pistol Club near Columbia, Missouri.

Team Hornady members, Doug Koenig and Jessie Abbate, posted first place finishes at the Bianchi Cup. This was Doug’s 12th win and Jessie’s first. After winning the match with a perfect score of 1920-179x in the Open Division, Doug competed in the optional Speed Event, that he also won. Doug and Jessie were both shooting Hornady 115 gr XTP bullets from their Smith & Wesson 38 Super’s.

“For Bianchi, accuracy is it, and that is the reason I use Hornady bullets,” said Doug.

Team Hornady’s Max Michel was heavily favored to win the USPSA Area 4 Championship, May 19-24, at the Shootout Range in Bossier City, Louisiana, and he did not disappoint. Shooting Hornady 124 XTP in his 38 Super, Max was one of a very small group to put all hits on the target.

“Once again, my 124 gr XTP bullets proved to be accurate and consistent,” he said. “This time they were tested not only up-close, but also out to 50 yards on a very difficult pistol course. There just isn’t a better bullet.”

Fellow Team Hornady member, 17-year old Grand Master, Nic Neel finished third overall at the Area 4 match. Nic shot handloaded 125 gr Hornady HAP bullets in his Infinity IMM. Shooting 97.40% of Max’s event winning score, Nic is expected to make a major impact on the shooting scene in the years to come.

Team Hornady’s Tony Gimmellie used Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor 120 gr Match ammo to win the Oregon Sniper Challenge, May 22-23, at the Douglas Ridge Rifle Club in Eagle Creek Oregon.

Tony said, “Hornady’s 6.5 Creedmoor ammo delivered ½ MOA accuracy from the POF gas piston rifle, allowing me to stay well ahead of the competition.” The 6.5 Creedmoor is quickly becoming a dominating force in both precision and tactical events.

The FNH Midwest 3 Gun Championships, May 21-23, at the Fire For Effect Range in Fayette, Missouri can be summed up in one word; muddy. That didn’t stop Team Hornady member Barry Dueck from winning the Tactical Optics Heavy division. Barry shot Hornady TAP FPD 110 gr 308 Winchester and 9mm XTP bullets from his STI.

“The 308 110 gr TAP FPD is an extremely accurate round with low recoil, which makes it easy to get through stages quickly and precisely,” he said.
