Montgomery, AL -(AmmoLand.com)- As Sister Schubert says in the video below, Alabama’s Black Belt is a great place to visit for summertime fun.

Take a trip to enjoy the great food available at places like the Hilltop Grill in Union Springs that traces its history to 1945 and is known for its slow-cooked pork and homemade stew; Sister’s in Troy, featuring a menu that changes daily and is known for Friday night seafood buffets and homemade banana pudding; and Dorothy’s Restaurant in Tuskegee at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, known for its traditional Southern cuisine, featuring sweet potato and pecan pies and cream pound cake.

This summer is also wonderful time for a day trip to ride Alabama’s Scenic River Trail that flows through the Black Belt with great places to canoe or kayak like Demopolis in Marengo County or along the Alabama River where the Cunningham Bluffs loom near Selma. Check out the Scenic River Trail website here.

Don’t forget we’re right in the middle of the Alabama Tourism Department’s “Year of Alabama BBQ,” too. There are restaurants all across the Black Belt with barbecue that can stand up to any in the state – try some and see!

Check out the website here and start eating!
