Fountain Valley, CA –-(AmmoLand.com)- SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of high-end illumination tools and tactical products, is proud to announce its Suppressor Division director, Barry Dueck, placed third out of a field of over 80 Tactical Division competitors at the 2009 U.S. Practical Shooting Association’s (USPSA) Multi-Gun National Championships. Team SureFire was well-represented by Dueck who shot a final score of 1877.0010, less than 50 match points behind second place.

“I felt pretty good, shooting overall, and I know where I made some obvious mistakes,” said Dueck of his performance. “I thought I was in good shape, but I definitely didn’t think about a top-three finish. The match was tough, so I’m very pleased with the result.”

As director of SureFire’s Suppressor Division, Dueck spends a lot of time with firearms, including testing the SureFire muzzle brakes that champions such as Michael Voigt and Taran Butler have used to win many past competitions. It’s also the brake Voigt and Dueck used to help Team USA win the Modified Division at the IPSC World Shoot XV in 2008.

“All SureFire products have to be the best, or they don’t leave our facility,” Dueck elaborated on the muzzle brake that helped him earn his third-place finish. “I spend hundreds of hours, and thousands of rounds of ammunition, doing R&D for each new product. To keep that from getting monotonous, I started setting up IPSC courses. That work ultimately led to our MB556K muzzle brake, which Michael Voigt and I both use.”

The Multi-Gun National Championships were held October 22-25, at the Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club, in Boulder City, Nevada. The event drew 135 top shooters from around the country to test their skills in a multi-gun format that requires competitors to use a rifle, shotgun, and pistol.
