Groves, TX – -(Ammoland.com)- Sure-Shot Game Calls, manufacturer of the world champion Yentzen duck call, is proud to announce that after a ten year absence from the SHOT Show, they will once again be exhibiting.
For 26 consecutive years, Sure-Shot Game Calls was an exhibitor at SHOT Show. But, at 70+ years old, the original owner, Jim “Cowboy” Fernandez decided to slow things down and enjoy his semi-retirement. When Charlie Holder bought the company in 2011, he kept Cowboy on the team and with his help, set out to bring new life to the 60+ year old company.
To commemorate the return of Sure-Shot to the SHOT Show, they will give away a prize hunt to one lucky attendee. The winner will receive an all-expense paid trip for two people to hunt with Harlan “Big Foot” Hatcher from the Swamp People TV show which airs on the History Channel. The hunt will take place at the Drake Plantation in Winnie, Texas. To register, just stop by Booth 3116 anytime from January 20 – 23, 2015. The winner will be announced at the end of the show on the 23rd and does not need to be present to win.
The 60+ year old company was founded by James “Cowboy” Fernandez and George Yentzen in Nederland, Texas in the early 1940s. After many prototypes, their first product, the 1950 patented Yentzen, became the very first double-reed duck call introduced to the marketplace. In 1959, Cowboy Fernandez entered several duck calling competitions and both he and the Yentzen Caller became world class champions. Today, Sure-Shot offers over two dozen game calls for waterfowl, predator, deer, and turkey.
