Peter Andrew and Derek Blais, two Canadian artists, recently exhibited a series of super-high-resolution photographs of handguns entitled Point Blank at the Station 16 art gallery in Montreal, Canada.
Inspired by American artist Robert Longo, Peter and Derek take countless close-up photographs of handguns, slowly racking the focus as they snap, and then piece together the images in Photoshop to create one image with an infinite depth of field. The resulting images are printed big and when you stand in front of them, they are very impressive.
The creators plan to exhibit their work in galleries across North America and beyond. It’s also a work in progress so they are looking for people who would like to have their guns photographed. If interested, you can contact them through their website here.
Let’s see how good you are at naming guns. Check out the photographs below and see how many you can name. What about caliber?
How many did you get?
