New Yorkers looking to buy an AR rifle now have one more option in the Standard Manufacturing line with its release of a state compliant model.

“We decided to offer a New York state compliant rifle because we didn’t want to leave the residents of New York without an option to buy an AR platform rifle,” Louis Frutuoso, president of Standard Manufacturing, said in an email to Guns.com.

In order to meet the stringent requirements of the NY SAFE Act in 2013, the company has swapped out prohibited items on its current selection of ARs, according to the announcement.

The adjustable stock, pistol grip and threaded barrel have been replaced with a Thordsen FRS-15 fixed stock, pistol buffer tube with foam sleeve for comfortable cheek holding and a slotted barrel thread cap pinned and welded. New York does not allow muzzle devices or threaded barrels under the law.

The Connecticut-based company offers three styles of ARs that are all gas operated and can be configured for left or right handed shooters. Also, the New York model is available for all calibers and all configurations.

The Standard Model A, a lightweight 6-pound rifle with a 35.5 inch length, that features an A3 upper receiver with M-Lok compatible polymer; the Standard Model B, a 6.2 pounds with a 36-inch length, the comes in either 5.56 or .300 BLK; and the Standard Model C tips scales at 7.5 pounds with a 16-inch barrel.

Prices start at $899 and there is a $30 additional charge for the compliant option.
