St. Louis cop indicted for giving crack dealer a shotgun (VIDEO)

A federal indictment was unsealed last week charging a former St. Louis police officer for providing a shotgun to a known crack dealer.

A federal grand jury indicted former officer Don McGhee, 28, of St. Louis City, on one felony count of conspiracy to possess a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime. McGhee surrendered to authorities, and appeared for arraignment on March 12.

According to the indictment, on March 2, 2014, McGhee took a Mossberg 12 gauge pistol grip shotgun to the drug house and gave it to one of the drug dealers knowing that the drug dealer would use it in relation to and in furtherance of the drug trafficking.

But law enforcement recovered the shotgun during the execution of a search warrant several days later. The gun was found fully loaded  along with several other firearms, ammo, crack, weed, and large amounts of cash.

If convicted, this charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000.
