Demonstration of Most Popular Law Enforcement Less-Lethal Models at Mock Prison Riot in Moundsville, WV May 1-4, 2016
Meridian, ID -(AmmoLand.com)- SRM today announced an upcoming demonstration of their patented Ringfire less-lethal technology for the most popular 12 gauge shotguns used by law enforcement, corrections and military personnel.
These include the Remington 870, Mossberg 500 and 590 and the Benelli M1, M2 and M4 shotguns. In addition to these 12 gauge shotguns, SRM’s Ringfire technology will also support 37mm, 38mm and 40mm less-lethal launchers. SRM is joining AMTEC Less-Lethal Systems, Inc., at the annual Mock Prison Riot held at the Decommissioned West Virginia Penitentiary on May 1-4 2016 for a demonstration of the Ringfire technology. This event will attract law enforcement and corrections officers from all across the U.S. and 17 international countries.
Jeff Hajjar, President of SRM, developed the Ringfire less-lethal technology as an industry best practice for domestic and international less-lethal markets.
“Our Ringfire technology solves the largest problem associated with less-lethal firearms, which is the discharging of a lethal round that is accidentally placed in a less-lethal launcher,” said Jeff Hajjar, President of SRM. “The message we constantly hear from agencies is that they need a less-lethal 12 gauge or 40mm platform that will not fire any lethal rounds. The Ringfire replacement bolt and ammunition does this, and by doing so, we eliminate a massive liability concern for these agencies.”
The Ringfire system operates in 12 gauge, 37mm, 38mm and 40mm platforms by replacing the existing bolt with a Ringfire less-lethal bolt and then using the Ringfire less-lethal ammunition. The Ringfire bolt is designed so that the firing pin cannot strike a traditional primer found in lethal ammunition. Conversely, a Ringfire less-lethal round cannot be fired by using a traditional 12 gauge shotgun or launcher.
SRM’s Ringfire ammunition has a non-traditional primer that aligns perfectly with the path of the firing pin found in the Ringfire bolt. When the firing pin strikes the outer edge, or the ring, of the non-traditional primer in the Ringfire ammunition, the round will discharge.
“We believe the Ringfire technology will quickly become the industry best practice when it comes to less-lethal solutions,” Hajjar continued. “We are proud to be on the leading edge of this solution.”
