To the delight of Springfield Armory fans, the Illinois-based company debuted a set of new pistols at the start of SHOT Show 2017 in Las Vegas this week.
The 1911 TRP Armory Kote in a tactical gray finish, pictured above, kicks off Springfield’s 2017 line. Chambered in the classic .45 ACP round, the 1911 TRP stands at 5.7 inches in height with an overall length of 8.6 inches. The gun has fully adjustable, 3-Dot Tritium sights on a forged carbon steel slide with black armory kote. The frame features a beautiful tactical gray finish and accessory rail. The 1911 TRP retails for $1,730.
Continuing the 1911 theme, Springfield introduced the EMP Black Armory Kote chambered in 9mm. The gun features an overall length of 6.6-inches with a weight of 27 ounces. The forged steel, armory kote slide sits on a forged, aluminum alloy, black frame. Breaking up the all black theme is a set of wood grips which give this gun a refined 1911 look. The 1911 EMP Black Armory Kote comes in at the $1,100 mark.
The Concealed Carry Contour rounds out the new 1911 products from Springfield. The pistol, chambered in 9mm, is designed specifically for concealed carry. The Concealed Carry Contour features a rounded mainspring housing which is engineered to sit more flush to the body and provide better concealment in a holster. At 7.5 inches in overall length and a weight of just over 30 ounces, the Concealed Carry Contour retails for $1,220.
The last in Springfield’s lineup is the XD Mod.2 4-inch Service Model. Heeding the call of Springfield fans for a full-size variant on the popular Mod.2 line, the company created a .45ACP version. The Mod.2 Service Model carries on the Grip Zone texturing as well as an accessory rail for lights and lasers. With a 13 round capacity, the 30 ounces pistol has an overall length of 7.3 inches. The Mod.2 Service Model features a fiber optic front sight with low-profile, combat rear sights. The new Service Model retails for $593.
