Springfield Armory auctioned off its #0001 Chris Kyle Limited Edition TRP Operator 1911 pistol at the NRA Annual Meeting Saturday. Taya Kyle and Springfield Armory president and CEO Dennis Reese were present to award the gun to the highest bidder.
A large crowd turned out and the auction was conducted both publicly and online using Gun Broker. Overnight, the bid stood at $17,550 but the price quickly grew. To find out how much the gun finally sold for, please watch the video.
Proceeds of the auction go to the Chris Kyle Foundation. Springfield Amory will produce 1,000 of the pistols, each with a unique serial number ranging from CK0001 through CK1000. Suggested MSRP is $2,495.
