Former Colorado Rockies All-Star Todd Helton will join Sportsman Channel to host its Hunt.Fish.Feed. event in Denver, October 14 at 4:30 p.m. MST
New Berlin, Wis. –(Ammoland.com)- For 17 consecutive years, former Colorado Rockies All-Star, Todd Helton performed at Major League Baseball’s highest level with one club while collecting more than 2,500 career hits and finishing among some of the greatest to ever play the game with a career batting average of .316. On Tuesday, October 14 at the Denver Rescue Mission, Helton will join Sportsman Channel to host its Hunt.Fish.Feed. event in downtown Denver beginning at 4:30 p.m. MST. Mayor Michael Hancock also will declare October 14 as “Hunt.Fish.Feed Day” in the city of Denver. Sportsman Channel’s Hunt.Fish.Feed program will serve and feed more than 300 people in need in the Mile High City and has served more than 23,000 meals to the less fortunate across the country since 2007.
In addition to the former five-time All-Star, the event will feature other high-profile guests including: Bob Beauprez, Colorado gubernatorial candidate; Congressman Cory Gardner, member of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus and candidate for the U.S. Senate; and Scott Leysath, Sportsman Channel host (“The Sporting Chef”) and Executive Chef. Leysath is an expert in wild game cuisine and will create a mouthwatering venison chili. Fred and Michele Eichler (hosts of Sportsman Channel’s “Easton Bowhunting TV”) will donate fresh venison for the event.
Todd Helton will be in attendance from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. MST.
“Hunt.Fish.Feed. provides a unique way for the network, as well as hunters and fisherman from the area to help the less fortunate,” said Ben Lines, vice president of marketing at Sportsman Channel. “Having Todd Helton attend Hunt.Fish.Feed at the Denver Rescue Mission brings an added element of excitement and exposure to a problem that still affects far too many Americans including members of the Denver community.”
“Comcast is honored to partner with Sportsman Channel to support our local community and help make this important event a great success,” said Rich Jennings, senior vice president of Comcast’s Mile High Region. “Our employees are proud to volunteer to help prepare and serve healthy meals to Denver families in need, and we are grateful to Sportsman Channel for bringing this event to Colorado.”
Since its inception in 2007, Sportsman Channel’s Hunt.Fish.Feed. events have prepared and fed more than 23,000 meals to less fortunate members of society across the United States. The unique outreach program taps an underutilized food source—game meat and fish donated by sportsmen and women—to feed those struggling with hunger across America.
