DENVER (Ammoland.com) – While Sportsman Channel’s Sheep Shape continues to follow four hunters on a grueling quest of endurance, the adventure of high mountain hunting becomes a matter of taking risks or losing it all in this week’s episode. Patrick Scrogin, Chad Hall, Kelsie Burford and Rick Carone work to keep their focus, but the challenging terrain and unforgiving climate begin to wear on the hunters. Tune in to Sheep Shape on Thursday, August 13 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on Sportsman Channel

Sheep Shape - Patrick Scrogin
Patrick Scrogin of Sheep Shape

Patrick Scrogin has been on the hunt for a bull caribou nicknamed “Fingers” for several days, but has not had the opportunity to take aim. The terrain threatens to slow him down, as the plants outlining the team’s path easily catch on Scrogin’s prosthetic leg. Though he is feeling the weight of the difficult landscape, a reminder of why he is on this journey comes in the form of an intense hunt and an emotionally moving letter from his wife.

“To me this is one of the greatest things I’ve ever done,” reflected Scrogin. “It’s a lot more than hunting; it’s preparing to take yourself to the limits – especially me. I approached this hunt as I’ve probably never approached anything else. I was focused.”

Rick Carone and Chad Hall are on their own hunts for grizzly bear and caribou. Without any prospective game in sight, Carone and his guide Jessica contemplate their previous hunting endeavors and what it will take to continue on this endeavor. Chad Hall makes his way into the lowlands to set up camp and begin the hunt. He and his team must remain extremely cautious, as the new location borders on bear country. And Kelsie Burford is also without a target, as she is hoping to fly out of her current Alaskan location. If the unrelenting fog and rain do not let up soon, Burford and her team will remain stranded – with limited provisions.
