Sportsman Channel Broadens Distribution with Move to Comcast’s Digital Preferred Service in Chicago
New York, NY –-(AmmoLand.com)- Sportsman Channel, the premiere all hunting, shooting and fishing network, announced today it will be moved to Comcast’s Digital Preferred service (Channel 416 in Chicago and South Bend, Indiana, and Channel 554 in Rockford and Central Illinois) throughout the Chicago area beginning December 15, 2009. The move will bring Sportsman’s high-quality hunting, shooting and fishing shows to Comcast Digital Preferred customers throughout the Chicago area.
“We are pleased to be part of Comcast Chicago’s digital preferred service, making Sportsman available to even more of the area’s many outdoor-enthusiasts and sportsmen,” said Willy Burkhardt, president of Sportsman. “Sportsman Channel has tremendous production and promotional resources behind it and we are actively and aggressively leveraging these resources to make our channel the video destination for sportsmen across the country. It’s our goal to strive for excellence and provide our distributors and viewers with high-quality and entertaining content across our three programming pillars of hunt, shoot and fish.”
During the past year, Sportsman has benefited from the ongoing programming resources of its parent company, InterMedia Outdoors, the largest outdoor media content provider, which has helped to fuel the network with more than 500 original series episodes and 15 new shows in 2009 alone.
“We’re thrilled to expand the availability of the Sportsman Channel beginning in mid-December,” said David Williams, Vice President of Marketing at Comcast. “Now all of our Digital Preferred customers will be able to enjoy its hunting, shooting and fishing programming.”
