Rifle Marksmanship Clinics To be Offered April 18-19
Ramseur, NC -(Ammoland.com)- Project Appleseed is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to maintaining the ideals and traditions of the Founding generation.
In order to accomplish our goal, Project Appleseed teaches rifle marksmanship and the true story of April 19th, 1775, the day of Paul revere’s Ride in weekend clinics all over this great nation. By taking our participants back to that fateful day and teaching rifle marksmanship, Project Appleseed hopes to reconnect “ordinary” Americans with their extraordinary heritage.
The ideals and traditions of the men, women and children who created this country resulted in the freest and most prosperous nation the world has ever known. We drift from their simple wisdom at our own great peril. As we are an all-volunteer organization, we ask for your help in getting the word out to fill our firing lines and expose more Americans to these patriotic, non-partisan, family-oriented events.
April 19, 1775 – the day of the “Shot Heard ‘Round the World”
While Project Appleseed holds events on weekends all over the country, all year long, the upcoming weekend of April 18th and 19th is special. In order to honor this, perhaps the most important date in American history, we hold special rifle marksmanship events we call the “Patriot’s Day Event”.
“Patriot’s Day” Project Appleseed rifle marksmanship clinics will be held throughout Florida on:
- Apr. 18-19: Wyoming Antelope Club, 3700 126th. Ave. N., Clearwater, FL.
- Apr. 18-19: Hernando Sportsman’s Club, 16121 Commercial Way, Brooksville, FL.
- Apr. 18-19: Manatee Gun and Archery Club, 1805 Logue Rd., Myakka City, FL.
- Apr. 18-19: Volusia County Gun & Hunt Club, 4645 E. SR 44, New Smyrna Beach, FL.
- Apr. 18-19: Port Malabar Rifle and Pistol Club, 610 Hurley Blvd. SW, Palm Bay, FL.
- Apr. 18-19: Isaac Davis Memorial Range, located off Upper Cody North Road, Wacissa, FL (near Tallahassee).
Participants are taught fundamental rifle marksmanship skills that are to allow a rifleman or riflewoman to be accurate out to 400 yards, with iron sights or a scope, a standard rifle and surplus ammo. Most of the instruction at a Project Appleseed event is conducted on the firing range at 25 yards, at reduced size targets to simulate 100 to 400 yards. Students will learn rifle shooting from the standing, sitting, kneeling, and prone positions, sight alignment, and breath control, along with safe gun handling, proper use of a sling, and Revolutionary War history.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. The clinic starts at 8:30 a.m. and will continue until 5:00 p.m., both days. Please bring your own ear/eye protection, rifle with sling and ammo, rifle mat, bug repellent, hat, sunscreen, a packed lunch, snacks, and water to drink. A .22 caliber rifle is recommended due to the cost of ammo, but a centerfire rifle can be used if preferred. About 250 rounds of ammo will be needed per day.
Marksmanship Clinic fees (includes both Saturday and Sunday, but participants do not have to attend both days):
- Adults: $60
- Youth under age 18: $20
- Active duty military, Law Enforcement Officers with ID, and elected officials are free.
Additional club range fees may apply.
