Pierre, SD -(Ammoland.com)- The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (SDGFP) has awarded Eric Krebs with the Division of Wildlife’s highest honor, the 2014 Distinguished Service Award.
“It is with great pleasure that we recognize Eric Krebs for his 12 years of service with our agency and his work at the McNenny State Fish Hatchery near Spearfish,” stated Tony Leif, director of the GFP Division of Wildlife. “His accomplishments go above and beyond his duties as a conservation technician and we greatly appreciate his customer service, dedication and commitment to conserving our state’s natural resources.”
Krebs is an innovative and skilled craftsman, who has fabricated specialized equipment used to raise fish at the hatchery. In addition, his creations have dramatically improved work place safety and enhanced the experience for hatchery visitors. His efforts have made raising fish at the hatchery more efficient and have been a great value to the anglers of South Dakota.
“I am humbled and thankful to have received this award,” stated Krebs. “I enjoy the work that I do and have always been very dedicated to the anglers of South Dakota. Thank you to the department for honoring me with this award. It is greatly appreciated.”
Krebs is a native of Pierre, South Dakota, and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp.
