SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Sonoran Desert Institute (SDI), an industry leader in providing accredited and accelerated distance learning, has partnered with the United States Military Educators Association – Online to provide new scholarships to student veterans.
The new program establishes 12 all-new tuition scholarships — $3,200 each — for student veterans within the USMEA network.
“We’re very proud to work together with USMEA-Online in providing these new scholarships for student veterans,” says Pam Rogers, director of Sonoran Desert Institute.
“The training, experience and professionalism of our veterans make them uniquely qualified for the gunsmithing trade and we believe our new partnership with USMEA-Online will help support these professionals in providing a very much needed service to gun owners and firearm enthusiasts across America.”
The 2013-14 SDI-USMEA Online Scholarship application will be open between the first and 25th of each month. Student veterans must complete an online application, answer two essay questions, attach the required documents, and submit one letter of reference prior to the deadline. All successful candidates must be on active duty, reserve, received an honorable discharge, or is in good standing with his/her branch of service; have official documentation as a wounded and/or injured service member; provide military status by a DD 214, or other military document for service; and demonstrate a commitment to and passion for armorer, gunsmith trade and/or hobby.
