William Asa Hutchinson III, son of Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, was slapped with a DWI and other charges following a vehicle accident in Fayetteville early Sunday morning.
Hutchinson ran into a guard rail and initially claimed he simply fell asleep at the wheel, but when officers probed him about where he was going, he apparently wasn’t sure which direction he was traveling. First responders on the scene also noticed Hutchinson’s breath smelled of alcohol, his eyes were bloodshot and his speech slurred. Officers asked Hutchinson to submit to a field sobriety test and breathalyzer, but he refused.
Hutchinson now faces charges for DWI, careless driving, and refusal to submit to a chemical test. He was arrested and released after posting a $935 bond.
