It was a smash and grab of an unusual sort early Monday morning at a gun shop in Spring, Texas.
Video surveillance captured a masked suspect tearing into the side of Warthog Firearms with a backhoe, which was believed to be stolen from a nearby railroad track. Moments later, a second suspect goes inside to grab the goods.
The suspect’s attempt to shatter the glass of a display case was unsuccessful, and in the end he walked out with a single rifle. Altogether, the smash and grab took just two minutes, but caused thousands of dollars worth of damage.
“They did all this damage for almost nothing,” said shop owner Joe Bargas, who explained that the rifle the suspect took off with was at the shop to be repaired and wasn’t even functional.
